2024 HIGHLIGHTS
OCA Board Chair, Jordan Moat, shared key achievements include engaging students in financial literacy and co-op education, continuing to revitalize the Co-operative Young Leaders program, launching a new website and digital resource hub, deepening commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion, supporting co-operative governance and strengthening partnerships and collaborations. More information can be found in our Annual Report.

There was no election to the board this year due to our fiscal year adjustment, therefore the officers of the board will remain the same with Jordan Moat as Chair, Wendy Carruthers as Vice-Chair/Secretary and Kathy Stewart as Treasurer.
FINANCIAL UPDATE
Treasurer, Kathy Stewart, presented the Financial Report highlighting that during our nine-month fiscal year in 2024, revenues were understandably lower compared to the previous twelve-month period ending March 2024 due to the shorter period. We saw a small surplus from our shortened fiscal year, and we were able to contribute the larger difference, resulting from twelve-months of membership dues, to our reserves. Kathy expressed gratitude to our sponsors and partners for their support, as well as to our members for their continued commitment during the fiscal year transition.
LOOKING AHEAD
Our focus remains strong on growing our impact and delivering meaningful programs and we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts with our members and stakeholders. In Advocacy, we aim to strengthen government relations through targeted meetings with MPPs, ministries, and FSRA, while re-establishing the Co-op Caucus to build momentum for 2026.
To foster co-operative collaboration, we will host another in-person event in the fall, along with our Spirit Awards, and monthly webinars throughout the year, enhancing sector connections during the International Year of Co-operatives. In Education, we plan to expand programming across age groups, including working with AgScape and expanding the CYL program to reach more youth throughout Ontario.
