Implementing a wage-supplemented Internship Program

The Co-operative Internship and Experience Program (CIEP) gives recent university and college graduates a chance to work in the co-operative sector with On Co-op or one of its members. Host organizations are given access to new skilled employees with salaries supplemented by Service Canada, while interns earn valuable experience and knowledge on the co-operative business model. If your co-op or credit union is interested in being guided through the internship application and recruitment process, contact Audrey (see info below).

Development of a Youth Director Position

Empower a young person (18-24 years old) to assist in the governance of your organization. This is anything but a token youth initiative! A voting-member board position reserved for youth in your co-op or credit union is a great way to foster a young person’s life-long co-operative learning, by giving them the same responsibilities and obligations as any other board member. In turn, your board benefits from a valuable youth perspective. On Co-op can consult with you to develop guidelines and terms of reference for the position as well. For more information visit s.coop/consulting or contact Dalia (see info below).
