The Guide to the Act
The Guide to the Act was originally envisioned as a plain language translation of the legislation, but has transformed into a larger guide that includes a number of practical issues related to starting and managing co-operatives. The electronic version (on USB memory stick) also includes a series of FactSheets on issues and practises related to co-operatives - as detailed below. The Guide is AVAILABLE for purchase. HOW TO INCORPORATE IN ONTARIO
Co-ops work with a variety of different government Ministries, departments and agencies in the province. However, the Ministry of Finance handles incorporation through FSCO - the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Under Ontario's Co-operative Corporations Act (CCA), all businesses wishing to incorporate must file the appropriate forms, statements and fees with the FSCO. To learn more, click here.
