  • Record-breaking Roundtable and Conference Series Supported by Trillium Grant

    Co-operative Development

    2014-Oct-19

    Description

    Co-op Development Document

Made possible by almost $200k in funding from an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, a project of the Ontario government, On Co-op has launched a ground-breaking series of 30 community roundtables being held from September - November, 2013 and 6 regional conferences scheduled to take place in February - March, 2015.
The Outreach Roundtable Series, taking place now, provides unique opportunities for co-op leaders, board members and front-line staff to meet and network with representatives from other co-ops within the community. Each meeting - tailored to the needs of its region - is hosted by one of our six dynamic regional managers who have been energizing co-ops in their area to work together and make their co-ops stronger. Co-op networks in select Ontario communities are already fostering a more resilient co-operative identity.

  • Renewable Energy Co-operatives Scan, Canada January 2012

    Co-operative Engagement

    2012-Mar-02

    Description

    Informational Material

The focus of the report is on RE applications for grid-connected electricity generation from low-impact renewable sources, including solar, wind, biogas and small hydro. While RE co-ops that produce non-electricity renewable energy services (e.g. heat and transportation) are also emerging in Canada and internationally, they are only given passing mention here in order to provide a focus on an under researched but central sector for environmental practitioners, co-operators, and policy makers.
