Governance, Board of Directors & Committees

Like all co-operatives, On Co-op is structured democratically. The power to govern and direct the co-operative rests in the hands of its member-owners (not some distant shareholders).

From (and by) the body of On Co-op Voting Members, a Board of Directors is elected. That board then hires and oversees the Executive Director. The Executive Director is in charge of hiring and overseeing the rest of the On Co-op staff. Lastly, a committee structure is created to give guidance and direction to our co-operative's actions, or to support and expand upon the staff's core competencies.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Learn about our current Board Members, and red up on the duties and obligations of an On Co-op board member by choosing "BOARD OF DIRECTORS" from the 'Related Pages' section on the top right of this page.

COMMITTEES:  On Co-op currently has eight committees:

  • Governance and Membership
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Education
  • Nominating
  • Co-op Development
  • Government Relations (joint with CCO)
  • Regulatory Affairs
To learn more about the purpose of each committee, please view the "On Co-op Committee Descriptions" document in the Downloads section of the right-hand toolbar.  For a complete listing of all our current committee members, please view the "2017-18 Board, Staff & Committees" document in the Downloads section of the right-hand toolbar.
